Melbourne is a food lover’s paradise, it has the most cafes and restaurants per capita in the world. There are no shortages of places to eat and there are enough options to last a lifetime. It is easy to see why in 2015 Melbourne was voted the most live-able city in the world. I have created my list of my favourite Vegetarian restaurants in Melbourne. Happy Dining!
Vegie Bar is hands down one of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne and every time I visit this city, I make sure I dine here. The Vegie Bar menu is obviously vegetarian with vegan, raw food and gluten free options available. Some of the mains include pizzas, burritos, burgers, salads, stir fries, nachos and raw pad thai. The flourless chocolate cake and raw berry cheesecake are beyond amazing. The prices are affordable and the portion sizes are large. I would recommend Vegie Bar as a great option for the health conscious and the hungry. 380 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, Victoria
Smith and Daughters
Smith and Daughters is a vegetarian and vegan restaurant on Fitzroy’s Brunswick Street. The food and drinks are delicious, the vibe is good and the service is 10/10. The menu has meat and dairy options such as the paella and chorizo tacos but the meat is replaced by a vegan counterpart. Some of the mains include calamari salad, gourmet hot dog, southern fried chicken burger, fried chicken and waffles. The desserts include pumpkin pie, peanut butter cheesecake and hot jam doughnuts which are Spanish doughnuts filled with quince jam. It costs around $80 for dinner for two with really generous portion sizes. 11 Moor Street, Fitzroy, Victoria
